    strip: Add GCC LTO IR support

"strip --strip-debug" no longer strips debug sections in fat IR objects
since fat IR objects are recognized as plugin object and copied as unknown
objects. Add a is_strip_input field to bfd to indicate called from strip.
Update bfd_check_format_matches not to treat archive member nor standalone
fat IR object as IR object so that strip can remove debug and IR sections
in fat IR object. For archive member, it is copied as an unknown object
if the plugin target is in use or it is a slim IR object. For standalone
fat IR object, it is copied as non-IR object.

bfd/

	PR binutils/33246
	* archive.c: Include "plugin-api.h" and "plugin.h" if plugin is
	enabled.
	(_bfd_compute_and_write_armap): Don't complain plugin is needed
	when the plugin target is in use.
	* bfd-in2.h: Regenerated.
	* bfd.c (bfd): Add is_strip_input.
	* format.c (bfd_set_lto_type): If there is .llvm.lto section,
	set LTO type to lto_fat_ir_object.
	(bfd_check_format_matches): Don't set LTO type when setting
	format. When called from strip, don't treat archive member nor
	standalone fat IR object as an IR object.
	* plugin.c (bfd_plugin_get_symbols_in_object_only): Copy LTO
	type derived from input sections.

nm/

	PR binutils/33246
	* nm.c (filter_symbols): Don't complain plugin is needed when
	the plugin target is in use.
	(display_rel_file): Likewise.
	* objcopy.c (copy_archive): Set the BFD is_strip_input field of
	archive member to 1 to indicate called from strip. Also copy
	slim IR archive member as unknown object.
	(copy_file): Set the BFD is_strip_input field of input bfd to
	1 to indicate called from strip.
	(strip_main): Keep .gnu.debuglto_* sections unless all GCC LTO
	sections will be removed.

ld/

	PR binutils/33246
	* testsuite/ld-plugin/lto-binutils.exp (run_pr33246_test): New.
	Run binutils/33246 tests with GCC and Clang.
	* testsuite/ld-plugin/pr33246.c: New file.

While it seems weird that the same files are opened twice for reading,
it's no wonder that 20 fds aren't enough on Solaris.

To avoid this, I've raised the limit to 25, hoping that this will be
enough on more targets.

Tested on i386-pc-solaris2.11 and i686-pc-linux-gnu.

2707d55e53 [lto] Fix symlookup in archives vs shared
when a shared library defines 'foo@@FOO' (default version),
a static archive defines 'foo', the shared lib comes in front
of the archive and under effect of --as-needed, and the requesting
object file uses LTO, then the link editor was wrongly including
the definition from the static archive. It must use the one
from the shared lib, like in the non-LTO or the --no-as-needed case.
See the added testcase that would wrongly print "FAIL" before
this patch.

The problem stems from several connected problems:
(1) only the decorated symbol was entered into first_hash (the hash
    table designed to handle definition order in the pre-LTO-plugin
    phase of the symbol table walks)
(2) in the archive symbol walk only the undecorated name would be
    looked up in first_hash (and hence not found due to (1))
(3) in the archive symbol walk first_hash would only be consulted
    when the linker hash table had a defined symbol. In pre-LTO
    phase shared lib symbols aren't entered into the linker symbol
    table.

So: add also the undecorated name into first_hash when it stems from
a default version and consult first_hash in the archive walker also
for currently undefined symbols. If it has an entry which doesn't
point to the archive, then it comes from an earlier library (shared or
static), and so _this_ archive won't provide the definition.

14c460302b ld/testsuite/lto: replace manual links by ld_link helper
Some tests are calling run_host_cmd in order to retrieve the
errors/warnings messages generated.
ld_link is also making them available through exec_output global
variable but as the advantages of taking the board configuration into
account unlike run_host_cmd.

79937804a5 Don't trim trailing newline in run_host_cmd
Testcases like ld-elf/pr19719a.c that

bb9a951fab Don't claim a fat IR object if no IR object should be claimed
When the linker sees an input object containing nothing but IR during
rescan, it should ignore it (LTO phase is over). But if the input object
is a fat IR object, which has non-IR code as well, it should be used to
resolve references as if it did not contain any IR at all. This patch
adds lto_type to bfd and linker avoids claiming a fat IR object if no IR
object should be claimed.

0fa7d86440 ld: fix plugin tests for MIPS PIC
On MIPS, for PIC objects, symbols may reference 2 times:
once from the caller, and once from GOT.
Thus ld may complains 2 times about "undefined reference".

So we add a new "#?" line to every effected testsuite.

b21318bd2c Add LDPT_REGISTER_CLAIM_FILE_HOOK_V2 linker plugin hook [GCC PR109128]
This is one part of the fix for GCC PR109128, along with a
corresponding GCC change. Without this patch, what happens in the
linker, when an unused object in a .a file has offload data, is that
elf_link_is_defined_archive_symbol calls bfd_link_plugin_object_p,
which ends up calling the plugin's claim_file_handler, which then
records the object as one with offload data. That is, the linker never
decides to use the object in the first place, but use of this _p
interface (called as part of trying to decide whether to use the
object) results in the plugin deciding to use its offload data (and a
consequent mismatch in the offload data present at runtime).

The new hook allows the linker plugin to distinguish calls to
claim_file_handler that know the object is being used by the linker
(from ldmain.c:add_archive_element), from calls that don't know it's
being used by the linker (from elf_link_is_defined_archive_symbol); in
the latter case, the plugin should avoid recording the object as one
with offload data.

79cfb928f5 lto: Don't add indirect symbols for versioned aliases in IR
Linker adds indirect symbols for versioned symbol aliases, which are
created by ".symver foo, foo@FOO", by checking symbol type, value and
section so that references to foo will be replaced by references to
foo@FOO if foo and foo@FOO have the same symbol type, value and section.
But in IR, since all symbols of the same type have the same value and
section, we can't tell if a symbol is an alias of another symbol by
their types, values and sections. We shouldn't add indirect symbols
for versioned symbol aliases in IR.

3901d7da4e ld testsuite CFLAGS_FOR_TARGET
run_host_cmd adds $gcc_B_opt and $ld_L_opt to the command line if it
detects the program being run is a compiler. Since the program being
run in lto.exp linking pr28138 is "sh", we need to add these by hand.
This isn't exactly as run_host_cmd does, as it lacks reordering of
any user -B option in $CC_FOR_TARGET, but it's better than ignoring
gcc_B_opt.  This fixes a mips64 testsuite fail.

ld_compile adds CFLAGS_FOR_TARGET and other flags as well, so there
is no need for the ld_compile command line to include
CFLAGS_FOR_TARGET. Fixing this is just a tidy.

	* testsuite/ld-plugin/lto.exp: Add gcc_B_opt, CFLAGS_FOR_TARGET
	and $ld_L_opt to pr28138 link line.
