ea9c4d1574 COFF: function auxiliary symbols 
For one at least x86 gcc emits .def/.endef for functions, but no 2nd
pair to designate their ends (sizes). While we can't recover the sizes,
we can at least properly establish the chain of function symbols, which
of course requires to emit auxiliary symbols for every function symbol
even when there's no C_EFCN: We simply shouldn't be making their
insertion conditional upon there not being a function processing of
which is "in progress".

In fact it was wrong to assign dual purpose to {,next_}set_end:
Functions don't have "ends" set, but links to the next one. The same
symbol table entry can serve both as an end marker and be a part of the
chain of (defined) functions; this can't be expressed by a single static
variable. Use what (again) becomes last_functionP for this purpose,
along with tracking what symbol C_EFCN should apply to.

This then allows to undo exposing of the respective (supposedly static)
tracking variable, which PPC's XCOFF handling had introduced. Also
rename it back to what it was before its exposure.

For now the new testcases are XFAIL for Arm64 since there, unlike for
Arm32, mapping symbols are emitted for COFF, too.

85ef4a5ed8 gas: hide emulation struct format_ops instances when not needed 
Most targets don't even support emulations, so this data (and certain
functions) are entirely dead code for them.

87d2a20152 include: de-duplicate i386.h and x86_64.h 
Move common definitions to a new x86.h, thus allowing gas'es obj-coff.h
to include just that, getting rid of a TE_PEP compile-time dependency.

fd67aa1129 Update year range in copyright notice of binutils files 
Adds two new external authors to etc/update-copyright.py to cover
bfd/ax_tls.m4, and adds gprofng to dirs handled automatically, then
updates copyright messages as follows:

1) Update cgen/utils.scm emitted copyrights.
2) Run "etc/update-copyright.py --this-year" with an extra external
   author I haven't committed, 'Kalray SA.', to cover gas testsuite
   files (which should have their copyright message removed).
3) Build with --enable-maintainer-mode --enable-cgen-maint=yes.
4) Check out */po/*.pot which we don't update frequently.

3bab069c29 gas init_stab_section and get_stab_string_offset 
get_stab_string_offset currently creates the stabstr section if not
already present, in the process keeping a reference to the malloc'd
section name string.  Really, the name belongs in bfd_alloc'd memory
or some obstack so that it doesn't show as a memory leak on exit.
s_stab_generic at least does allocate the name for the stab section on
an obstack, but doesn't tidy that as well as it could.  Return paths
after issuing a warning don't release the memory, nor the memory for
the "string" copy.

This patch fixes these problems.  s_stab_generic is rearranged so that
creation of the sections occurs earlier, before any potential uses of
the note obstack during expression parsing.  That makes it possible to
always free the section name strings unless used to create new
sections.  I've also avoided get_absolute_expression_and_terminator
as I see that function might skip over end-of-line, and lack of a
--input_line_pointer might have caused the following source line to be
ignored.  (Other uses of this function in gas are OK.)

	earlier, so the names can be freed earlier before possible use
	of notes obstack during expression parsing.  Tidy error paths
	ensuring "string" is freed.  Use get_absolute_expression in
	place of get_absolute_expression_and_terminator.
	(s_stab): Adjust.
	(s_xstab): Use notes_concat to make stabstr section name.

a2c7ca15a5 Use stdint types in coff internal_auxent 
long is a poor choice of type to store 32-bit values read from
objects files by H_GET_32.  H_GET_32 doesn't sign extend so tests like
that in gdb/coffread.c for "negative" values won't work if long is
larger than 32 bits.  If long is 32-bit then code needs to be careful
to not accidentally index negative array elements.  (I'd rather see a
segfault on an unmapped 4G array index than silently reading bogus
data.)  long is also a poor choice for x_sect.s_scnlen, which might
have 64-bit values.  It's better to use unsigned exact width types to
avoid surprises.

I decided to change the field names too, which makes most of this
patch simply renaming.  Besides that there are a few places where
casts are no longer needed, and where printf format strings or tests
need adjusting.

c60b380679 aarch64-pe support for LD, GAS and BFD 
Allows aarch64-pe to be targeted natively, not having to use objcopy to convert it from ELF to PE.

c39e89c3aa gas: drop .appfile and .appline 
These were used originally to represent "# <line> <file>" constructs
inserted by (typically) compilers when pre-processing. Quite some time
ago they were replaced by .linefile though. Since the original
directives were never documented, we ought to be able to remove support
for them. As a result in a number of case function parameter aren't used
anymore and can hence be dropped.

a2c5833233 Update year range in copyright notice of binutils files 
The result of running etc/update-copyright.py --this-year, fixing all
the files whose mode is changed by the script, plus a build with
--enable-maintainer-mode --enable-cgen-maint=yes, then checking
out */po/*.pot which we don't update frequently.

The copy of cgen was with commit d1dd5fcc38ead reverted as that commit
breaks building of bfp opcodes files.
