e76715632c gas remove assorted unnecessary casts 
This continues the saga of removing unnecessary casts, and making
small code tidies in gas.  Hopefully this sees the last of K&R
anachronisms.

1a12e548ba gas NULL casts 
This removes many unnecessary NULL casts.  I'm also adding a few arg
casts in concat calls, to make the code consistent.  Advice from quite
a few years ago was that it's better to use the exact type for args
corresponding to function ellipses, in case NULL is defined as plain
0.  (I think that happened with some early 64-bit systems.  Plain NULL
ought to be OK nowadays.)

689f3edfb8 rs_fill_nop and md_generate_nops 
Make rs_fill_nop behave like rs_fill in using a repeat count
(fr_offset) to emit fr_var length repeated nop patterns.  Besides
being more elegant, this reduces memory required for large .nops
directives.

	* as.h (rs_fill_nop): Update comment.
	* config/tc-i386.c (i386_generate_nops): Handle rs_fill_nop as
	for rs_align_code.
	* config/tc-i386.h (MAX_MEM_FOR_RS_SPACE_NOP): Define.
	* listing.c (calc_hex): Handle rs_fill_nop as for rs_fill.
	* read.c (MAX_MEM_FOR_RS_SPACE_NOP): Define.
	(s_nops): Use MAX_MEM_FOR_RS_SPACE_NOP setting up frag.
	* write.c (write_contents): Call md_generate_nops for rs_fill_nop
	before the fr_fix part is written, so that rs_fill_nop can be
	handled as for rs_fill.

2df22dd31d gas: make NO_LISTING work again 
Presumably since no target enables this and there's also no configure
control, builds with NO_LISTING defined didn't really work anymore.
Convert fallback functions to macros and add #ifndef in a few places.
(Behavior is different for affected command line options vs directives:
The former are rejected as unrecognized, while the latter are silently
ignored. I think that's fair enough.)

5e713f7542 gas: include .cfi_* generated data in listing 
These are data generating directives not overly different from e.g.
.byte and .long. Whatever (directly) results from should also be
represented in the listing, if one was requested. It's just that the
output data is generated much later than the parsing of the directive
arguments.

3e14570494 gas: fold is_end_of_line[] into lex_type[] 
... by way of introducing LEX_EOL and LEX_EOS. As a prereq convert the
remaining open-coded accesses.

The Alpha change is actually a functional one: The array slot for '!'
having been set to 1 is very unlikely to have been correct. 1 means "end
of line", when surely "end of statement" was always meant.

69d68fbeb8 gas: fix rs_fill_nop listing 
In commit a0094f1a70 ("gas: make .nops output visible in listing") I
was wrongly assuming fr_fix would be zero for rs_fill_nop, when that's
only a side effect of listing_newline() inserting dummy frags, but only
when file/line did actually change from the previous invocation. This is
in particular not going to be true when the .nops directive isn't the
first statement on a line.

e8efdd32b5 gas: consolidate whitespace recognition 
Let's extend lex_type[] to also cover whitespace, then having a simple
macro to uniformly recognize both blanks and tabs (and \r when it's not
EOL) as such.

In macro.c use sb_skip_white() as appropriate, instead of open-coding
it.

eb5903a8e2 gas buffer overflow with --listing-rhs-width 
With listings enabled, gas keeps a small cache of source lines.  They
are stored in buffers of size LISTING_RHS_WIDTH, ie. 100.  Given
listing-rhs-width larger than 100 it is of course possible to overflow
the buffer.  Fix that by allocating as needed.  We could allocate all
buffers on the first call to print_source using listing_rhs_width, but
I chose not to do that in case some future assembly directive allows
changes to listing_rhs_width similarly to the way paper_width can
change during assembly.

91fa2ea221 gas: properly check for ELF in LISTING_NODEBUG handling 
While OBJ_MAYBE_ELF presently implies OBJ_ELF (due to obj-multi.h
including obj-elf.h for obscure reasons), there still need to be IS_ELF
checks to cover for the OBJ_MAYBE_ELF case. Note, however, that code
checking for ->debugging being true doesn't need such extra checks, as
the field can only ever be true when IS_ELF.

On the same basis reduce #ifdef-ary in debugging_pseudo().

Also move the field (into what on 64-bit architectures is a 32-bit gap)
and put it inside an OBJ_ELF conditional, too.

While there further switch int to bool in related code.

fd67aa1129 Update year range in copyright notice of binutils files 
Adds two new external authors to etc/update-copyright.py to cover
bfd/ax_tls.m4, and adds gprofng to dirs handled automatically, then
updates copyright messages as follows:

1) Update cgen/utils.scm emitted copyrights.
2) Run "etc/update-copyright.py --this-year" with an extra external
   author I haven't committed, 'Kalray SA.', to cover gas testsuite
   files (which should have their copyright message removed).
3) Build with --enable-maintainer-mode --enable-cgen-maint=yes.
4) Check out */po/*.pot which we don't update frequently.

Due to using a different frag type (in turn due to storing data
differently), making the resulting code appear in listings requires
special handling.

a5ce326cfe gas: re-arrange listing output for .irp and alike 
It is kind of odd to have the expansions of such constructs ahead of
their definition in listings with macro expansion enabled. Adjust this
by pulling ahead the output of the definition lines, taking care to
avoid producing a listing line for (non-existing) line 0 when the source
is stdin.

Note that with the code movement the conditional operator isn't
necessary anymore - list->line now match up.

f493c2174e Get rid of fprintf_vma and sprintf_vma 
These two macros print either a 16 digit hex number or an 8 digit
hex number.  Unfortunately they depend on both target and host, which
means that the output for 32-bit targets may be either 8 or 16 hex
digits.

Replace them in most cases with code that prints a bfd_vma using
PRIx64.  In some cases, deliberately lose the leading zeros.
This change some output, notably in base/offset fields of m68k
disassembly which I think looks better that way, and in error
messages.  I've kept leading zeros in symbol dumps (objdump -t)
and in PE header dumps.

a2c5833233 Update year range in copyright notice of binutils files 
The result of running etc/update-copyright.py --this-year, fixing all
the files whose mode is changed by the script, plus a build with
--enable-maintainer-mode --enable-cgen-maint=yes, then checking
out */po/*.pot which we don't update frequently.

The copy of cgen was with commit d1dd5fcc38ead reverted as that commit
breaks building of bfp opcodes files.

The field only stores unsigned values, so let's make it unsigned to
stop people worrying about the possibility of negative values.

39865a7f42 Disable the inclusion of logical input files in the assembler listing output unless high level source listing has been enabled.

	* listing.c (listing_newline): Use the name of the current
	physical input file, rather than the current logical input file,
	unless including high level source in the listing.
	* input-scrub.c (as_where_physical): New function.  Returns the
	name of the current physical input file.

8860a416a2 replace some raw xmalloc / xrealloc with the XNEW* macros 
This increases consistancy of how we allocate memory, and always casting the
result to the proper type.  It also helps make sure we get any use of sizeof on
the result type correct.
